What does SMT mean? Surface Mount Technology (SMT) is a method of constructing electronic circuits by mounting components directly onto the surface of printed circuit boards (PCBs). SMT is a departure from the traditional through-hole technology (THT) where components are mounted by inserting their leads through holes in the board.
